Manchester United are out to bounce back when they host a stubborn Brighton in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.
Michael Carrick’s side are coming off a frustrating 1-0 home defeat to 10-man Manchester City, leaving them in 13th place with just four points from their opening four games.
They face a Brighton side who are reeling from an impressive 5-0 demolition of Coventry City away from home. The victory lifted them into the Premier League’s top four, giving them a real chance at qualification here.
United will be looking to correct their wrongs in the League Cup after an early exit last season following a shootout defeat against lowly Grimsby Town.

Benjamin Sesko should be given the nod to start up front for the home team, flanked by Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount.
Jason Steele will start in goal for the visitors and Tariq Lamptey will get only his second start of the season here in the Brighton defense.
