Preview of the Kenyans to look forward to this weekend at the 2026 Lausanne Diamond League

Emmanuel Wanyonyi: The quest for 800m supremacy

Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi headlines the men’s 800m race.

Lausanne holds special meaning for the Kenyan, having clocked 1:41.11 on this very track in 2024, a performance that ranks him joint second on the world all-time list.

He recently shattered the world 1000m record in Monaco with 2:11.83, yet remarkably, he is still chasing his first Diamond League 800m victory of the 2026 season.

Standing in his way are Canada’s world leader Marco Arop, who won in Paris with 1:41.84, and London Diamond League winner Brandon Miller of the USA.

Lilian Odira: Ready to clash with Europe’s finest

World champion Lilian Odira leads the African charge in a fiercely competitive women’s 800m.

She has already proven her elite pedigree this season, capturing a Diamond League victory in Eugene.

In Lausanne, she faces a fascinating tactical duel against Switzerland’s newly crowned European champion Audrey Werro, who will have passionate home support.

Adding another layer of intrigue is Femke Bol, the hurdle superstar dropping down to the distance.

Faith Cherotich: Dominating the 3000m steeplechase

World champion Faith Cherotich is the undisputed favourite in the women’s 3000m steeplechase.

Already secured a place at the Diamond League Final in Brussels, she enters Lausanne with the pressure off but hungry for more glory.

She faces a talented international field, but her goal is clear: dictate a punishing pace from the front, break the meeting record, and send a chilling warning to her rivals ahead of the season finale.

It will not be an easy task, as she will go up against Olympic champion Winfred Yavi, with both athletes having clocked 8:51 this season.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
